Mango Shake |
The little ones in our group ordered this! It was fresh and sweet! Not too much to talk about this, I was patiently waiting for the region's "special" longganisa.
Buko Juice |
Refreshing as well! The coconut meat was quite tough though! We had to ask one of their waitresses to remove the meat from the coconut for us.
Pinakbet |
Very similar to our Pinakbet here in Manila! They serve additional Bagoong with it so you get to put the Bagoong to the vegetables yourself! I'm not a super fan of vegetables so... let's go to the next one.
Bagnet |
CRISPY PORK BAGNET! Yuuuuumy! Can you already feel the crunchiness of this lovable pork dish? Crunch crunch crunch! The skin was very crunchy and the dish didn't feel oily. The dish also had a limited amount of meat and it was mostly fat and skin, just the way we all liked it. If you like to die quickly and sweetly, this is the dish for you!
Sinigang Sa Miso |
This Sinigang dish had Talakitok (Cavalla fish) as its fish! It wasn't that sour and I could really taste the freshness and the subtle miso taste of the soup! It was really refreshing despite the heat outside. I actually finished about 3 cups of this soup!
Fried Bunog |
Bunog is a local fish by the way. This dish surprised me! I'm not a fish fan but these tiny critters were good! They were very meaty (compared to the dilis) and you could barely taste the fish bones. You dip these goodies in vinegar and eat them straight up!
Vigan Longganisa |
This is the PRIDE OF VIGAN! The Vigan Longganisa (or sausages) was really tasty. I was shocked the first time I saw this dish because it was soooo small, but then, the longganisa itself was very meaty. It was quite lean and it didn't have the fatty smell that most sausages have. I ate this one with a spoonful of vinegar and atchara (pickled papaya)! Really tasty!
Off to our next food trip! THE Empanada of Vigan!
Eat them!
